Sharyn Fitzpatrick is the Chief Marketing and Webinar Guru at Marcom Gurus, a strategic marketing communication consultancy she founded in 2000. Working at the intersection of marketing, webinars, and learning, she uses her more than 25 years of experience and connections, both globally and in Silicon Valley, to create, deliver and manage customized, highly-rated Marcom projects and webinar programs that deliver thought leadership and measurable top and bottom line results including pre-and post IPO preparation and marketing, investor relations and event management (online and in person).
Her passion, her creativity, and the engaging process she uses have enabled her to build and deliver webinar and marketing programs from the ground up, each of which has led to successful revenue-generating opportunities for her clients. Since starting Marcom Gurus in 2000, she has had the marketing lead with several startups including SuccessFactors, Big Switch Network, and others.
Sharyn, aka “Webinar Chick”, has been creating and managing revenue-generating and/or thought-leadership web seminar programs – including live conference events – with major media hubs such as Chief Learning Officer, Sales & Marketing Management, Recreation Management, PresentationXpert, and others. Her team has delivered over 2000+ live events to audiences and organizations worldwide. For the last four years, Sharyn has been both the Editor-in-Chief and Webinar Producer for PresentationXpert.com – a the largest and longest running eNewsletter in the presentations field with over 150K subscribers.
Sharyn is an author and speaker on “Using Web Seminars for Lead Generation and Revenue” and “The Playbook for Building a Successful Webinar Program”. Her Hewlett Foundation sponsored book, #OPEN TEXTBOOK tweet Book01,’ written in the popular tweet format, focuses on the value of open textbooks and shows authors how to benefit from the growing demand for them and shares best practices on why and how open textbooks should be adopted for today’s classrooms are covered.
Prior to starting her consultancy, Sharyn held senior-level marketing positions at Knight-Ridder, Docent, and The Learning Company. She was on the IPO team for both Docent and The Learning Company. She is regarded as an out-of-the-box thinker, winning numerous awards for her innovative marketing including a regional Clio and recognition for Ad Age’s “Product Launch of the Year”.
The fun and passion that Sharyn brings to her clients are also how she lives her life. Her passion extends to her love for her family and her Penn State Nittany Lions. She has been a board member for the local Penn State Alumni Group for over 30 years and served as a member of the College of Communications Alumni board at Penn State for nine years. Sharyn has a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State.
